How to book an Assessment
You must have a referral from CRNBC to book a competency assessment. Once you have a referral from CRNBC you will be asked to complete an assessment at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. You may contact Kwantlen University College at any time after receiving your referral from CRNBC. Personnel at Kwantlen will work with you to arrange a mutually convenient time for your assessment.
The results of your assessment will be provided to CRNBC who will advise you of the results and the next steps in your registration process.
Preparing for Assessment
We strongly recommend that you prepare for your competency assessment by:
- Reviewing this website.
- Reviewing the CRNBC Entry to Practice
Competencies, and
CRNBC Standards of Nursing Practice.
- Reviewing
the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
- Reviewing current nursing textbook(s) that cover knowledge, practices and procedures
related to the type of assessment you have been recommended for you (i.e. general medical-surgical nursing or a focused specialty area).
- Reviewing the practice scenarios available for clinical judgment and triple jump assessments at Mount Royal College’s website.
